A week later…

I never intented for a week to go by without posting, but it has been a little crazy over here.

1) Last Tuesday we managed to get the crib put together.
2) Last Tuesday the kids went to their sibling class and had lots of questions. When we went to the nursery to see a baby, Carisela decided she wanted to take that baby home. It was cute.
3) Wednesday I had my Dr. appointment. Found out that I am 3cm dilated already and everything seems to be “in place.”
4) Thursday my contractions continued. Nico finished football camp and was sad it was the last day.
5) Friday I stayed home from work….contractions were stronger, along with some other signs that Marley might soon make her entrance. Packed my bags just in case.
6) Saturday we took it easy just in case. Contractions died down though. I got into a mad frenzy of working on finishing Carisela’s baby book since I have already started to work on Marley’s.
7) Put the finishing touches on the “nursery” and then went to see Ironman. I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did. So far it has been my favorite kid movie we have seen this summer.

Yesterday I did manage to go back to work. I left early because I was tired and the A/C was not working properly in my area. Since Nico & Daniel had Twilight Camp with the Scouts, Carisela & I decided to go and have a mani/pedi date. She is such a DIVA.

Tomorrow I have my doctor’s appointment in the morning. I have mixed feelings about having Marley this week. On one hand I would love to get this over with since I am very uncomfortable. However, my last shower is this Saturday and I would hate to be in the hospital that day and mess up everyone’s plans. Especially since people are coming in from out of town. Will see…

Well this past weekend I started having mild contractions. The nesting has kicked in to hyper mode and I am driving Daniel crazy. Daniel passed his National Exam and yesterday had an interview to find a place to complete his 3,000hours. It’s kinda exciting around out house with so many changes.

This past weekend we got the cradle ready since I received a lot bedding items from my registry at my work shower. With the gift cards I decided to get the crib. This weekend I was dying to go get it, but with Father’s Day and the Roughriders game on Saturday, there was just no time to get it done. So yesterday I stopped by Target to pick it up. I was shocked to learn that no one in the area had one in stock. So the search began. We finally managed to find one in South Dallas and picked it up last night since there was only one left. You can imagine how psycho I was regarding this crib yesterday. Daniel was understanding though.

This week should be a little calmer. Nico is enjoying his football camp and Carisela has been busy visiting with friends. Tonight the kids have their sibling class at the hospital. That should be interesting.

Well today l leave you with the cards the kids made for their Daddy. These were the outside of the cards and then I put them on card stock for them to write and decorate the actual card.

Another Busy One…

This past weekend was good, but was busy.  Friday night was movie night here at the house and I finally got to watch 27 Dresses.  Daniel was a sweetie and went and got me some chick flicks for the weekend.   Mad Money was not as good.

Saturday the day started early as we headed to the Berry Patch.  Daniel had good weather for a motorcycle ride up there.  The kids and I followed in the van.  They watched their DVD while I managed to finally get a good conversation with mom.  Ever since she moved to Tucson its been tough to get a good chunk of time to talk to her.  Time difference doesn’t help matters!  The berries were a little picked over, but we managed to pick a 1lb. bucket of blackberries.  Some are still a little tart, but Daniel fixed that problem.  He has made white chocolate covered blackberries.  YUM!!!

After our picnic we headed back to McKinney and it was off to IKEA to get Miss Carisela a new bed.  Nothing fancy, just a replacement.  The one she had broke and we needed to replace it.  Daniel always manages to find some sort of glassware while we are there.  I was pleased because we only spent 1 hour there and walked out spending less than $100.00.  The fact that the kids get to go to the kids center is another plus!

Then it was off to see Kung Fu Panda.  The kids loved it.  Daniel & I liked Speedracer better.  It’s crazy because the kids absolutely love Jack Black.  Probably has something to do with the Kids’ Choice Awards.

After the movie it was off to the Walpole House to play.  The kids ran around and tore up the house while the adults enjoyed drinks outside.  It was a beautiful evening and everyone seemed to have a good time.  I only managed to come home with 2 bug bites, so I was a happy camper.

Sunday we decided to take it easy.  I made a big breakfast and started the laundry.  Daniel decided to put Carisela’s bed together.  The kids did a good job of picking up.  By mid day they were asking their dad to put up the pool outside.  So Daniel hung out on the deck watching the kids while surfing on the computer and I managed to get dinner started, laundry done and worked on rearranging some furniture.  Nesting has fully kicked in.

This week will be another busy one.  Daniel has his state exam, kids have dentist appointments, I have my work shower and more doctor appointments.  It’s neverending!

Well, Nico is officially out of school and today is Carisela’s last day.  This week has been the busiest week with graduations, camps, parties, etc.  I am glad that it is coming to an end.

I have officially started my weekly appointments at the doctors.  We are down to 35 more days and I am busy trying to do fun stuff with the kids in order to make the time fly by.  So this weekend we are off to the Berry Farm to pick blackberries and have a picnic.

Busy Weekend

June 2nd, 2008 Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

This weekend turned out to be busier than what we anticipated.  Friday night we decided that instead of doing pizza, we would go to Shogun here in McKinney.  The kids had a great time and can’t wait to go back.

Saturday we headed out to the football fields early since The Cowboys made the playoffs.  We won our first game at noon, but lost the final game at 2pm.  So we can in 2nd.  The boys had awesome games though and played their best out of all season.  After a long afternoon in the sun, we were off to the team party and pizza.

Saturday night we decided to head to the movies.  I figured that we would end up watching Iron Man, but to my surprise the kids decided on Speed Racer.  Daniel and I were surprised…the movie was pretty good and we all had a blast.  Poor Carisela…she ended up curling up in her daddy’s lap and fell asleep for the last part of the movie.  She was tired!  Next weekend it is Kung Fu Panda!

Yesterday after heading to our favorite donut shop.  Carisela and I were off to the mall while Daniel took a motorcycle ride.  Nico had no interest in anything except playing with our neighbor.  In the afternoon we decided to head to the gym and enjoy and afternoon at the pool.  It was a nice way to end such an active weekend.

This week is going to be crazy busy.  It’s the last week of school and both the kids have tons of stuff going on.  Hopefully I can keep up!

Shopping Time

A couple of things I need to buy online:

1. Lands End Baby Bag: After much thought of what I want and what it can be used for after the baby years, I have opted for this bag. I am thinking of the green and will have Marley’s name put on in.

2. VS Nursing Bras: OK…so I have always had an issue with nursing bras and NEVER knew that VS had a nursing line. LOVE IT!  My issue:  most nursing bras are ugly and regardless, don’t fit right.

3.  Nursing Cami:  There are tons of nursing camis out there, but most of the time you end up revealing your upper body to the world or hide under a blanket.   These babies are great!!  You can wear them under your regular tops (which most of mine require a cami anyway) and feel normal.

4.  PJ Set:  This time around I am not going home after 4 hours of delivering the baby.  Instead I will be at the hospital where I don’t really have much control of who comes in and out of my room.  As a PJ pant and tank top girl, I am really digging this set.  I love the fact that it is a matching 3 piece set.

Well, I better get going.  I have laundry to start and want to sanitize Marley’s cradle.  Before I go, I will leave you with the first layout from our zoo trip this past Spring.

Ok….so I have gotten to the point of counting down. It helps. I think this pregnancy has been the most difficult. Still not terribly bad compared to other stories I hear, but for me the hardest out of the 3. Maybe its the age thing. WHATEVER!

I am trying to upload our pictures from Chicago. Hopefully I can get some layouts done as well. Daniel went crazy with our new video camera while we are there. Maybe I can get him to put something together. We’ll see. I am suppose to help him set up a blog sometime this weekend. I didn’t see that one coming.

Well, I ran into this site and fell in love with this mud room. Since the nesting has kicked in 150% you can imagine the wild thoughts running through my head. A girl can dream, can’t she?

I leave you with a photo of Daniel and I at the Oprah Studios. Everything was closed except the gift shop…Go figure!

Cleaning House

Well, yesterday I managed change some things around here that I have been meaning to do.  I finally upgraded my WP…not that you would notice, but I do on the back end.  It forced me to make a back up and export my databases.  It wasn’t too hard, but it took a while to figure out a couple of things.

Then I decided that I wanted a new template.  I really liked my other one, but it was pieced together and not 100%.  I really like this one.  I changed the image on it and put in some custom work.  Just a little something to get in the mood for summer.

I also finally transferred all my scrapbooks from Picasa to Smugmug.  I use Picasa on my desktop to manage my photos.  It so happens that they have a upload button for Smugmug as well.  So now I can upload to both pretty easily.  Figured that having them in four places (Picasa, Smugmug, computer and Removable hard drive) would be a good way to make sure my stuff is safe.

Speaking about summer, it was hot yesterday.  Nico had a football game yesterday.  Then we were off to COSTCO to spend some $.  We had not been there in a while and it was crowded!!  The kids got their swimsuits for the summer.  I love Nico’s truck and surftshirt combo.  He has issues with the sun, so this is going to be perfect.  Of course he had to get the Shark design and Miss Carisela got the pink suit and coverup combo.

Today we are having the Walpole boys over to play on the Bonzai.  Although it was a little pricey when we bought it, the Bonzai has been one of the best things we have bought the kids.  That along with the trampolin.  The weather should be great for it.

Have a great Sunday!  I leave you with a layout of Nico’s basketball season this year with the Mavericks.  They had a wonderful season and only lost one game.
